Great resource for HSC literature students
98% of the texts being studied for the 2009–2012 HSC are in Literary Reference Centre, an online database that you can access from anywhere with your Mosman Library card.
This is a great source of information on all aspects of literature.
- You can find plot summaries, literary criticism, reviews, journal articles and biographical information on authors and their works.
- The Literary Glossary and Dictionary help you define terms.
- The Literary-Historical Timeline can be used to pinpoint movements in literature and when works were written.
- The Full Text Classics section reproduces works – like Antigone, Jane Eyre, Northanger Abbey and all of Shakespeare’s works – in full text.
- The Literary context in Novels / Poetry / Short Stories / Plays / Essays / Memoirs gives you the societal, religious, historical, scientific and technological, biographical contexts of a work.
Log-in here and enter your Mosman Library card number.
Mosman Library subscribes to a number of online databases. Access our electronic resources online or at the Library.
