2008: The Year That Was

2009 is almost here. Time to look back at the year that was.
So much happened this year in the young adult book world. Gossip Girl came to life on Australian TV, the Children’s Book Council of Australia picked a VERY controversial book for its pick of picture book of the year (yay, Matt Otley) and of coure a little book called ‘Twilight’ hit the big screen.

Here are some top picks for 2008 from various sources. It’s interesting to see how many books make it on to multiple lists. (Some of the lists are from overseas and the books might not yet be available in Australia.)
