WIN!!!

Allen & Unwin are celebrating the release of Justine Larbalestier’s new book ‘How to Ditch Your Fairy’ by giving you a chance to win a $200 voucher and new books, yay!

Justine’s latest book is a noted departure from her Magic or Madness series.

In ‘How to Ditch Your Fairy’, Charlie goes to New Avalon Sport High, where most people have personal fairies. Not the classic wee-folk/elf/pink fairies, these fairies help their owner find the best clothes or make all the boys like you or help find the owner a great parking place. But these fairies are a double edged sword….would you REALLY want ALL the boys to like you? And what if someone wanted to use you for your great parking fairy? Someone you didn’t like?

Charlie really hates her parking fairy. So much so that she has not gotten into a car for 60 days! (the theory goes that if you starve your fairy of what they want you can rid yourself of the fairy). But there is a new boy at New Avalon High, Steffi, and he says fairies don’t really exist. But then why does he NEVER EVER get in trouble? Could he have a never-get-in-trouble fairy?

It’s a fun read. Quick and light. But it still makes you think.
It could be just the thing for the upcoming school holidays.
Here is an extract if you want to see what it’s all about.
