New To The Library

If you are looking for the hottest titles this Spring, Mosman Library has you covered.

L.A. Candy by Lauren Conrad ( from the reality show The Hills) tells the story of nineteen-year-old Jane Roberts can’t wait to start living it up. Los Angeles is all about the sweet life: hot clubs, cute guys, designer . . . everything. She may be in L.A. for an internship, but Jane plans to play as hard as she works, and has enlisted her BFF Scarlett to join in the fun. (sounds familiar, doesn’t it?)
When this book was first announced I must admit I was expecting it to be awful, but the first reports are coming back and it’s not half bad. So if you are looking for a fun read about the young and beautiful people in L.A. this is your inside scoop.

Brigands MC is the eleventh novel in the CHERUB series by Robert Muchamore. Every CHERUB agent comes from somewhere. Dante Scott still has nightmares about the death of his family, brutally killed by a biker gang. When Dante joins James Adams on a mission to infiltrate the Brigands Motorcycle Club, he’s ready to use everything he’s learned to get revenge on the people who killed his family …
The latest release in Muchamore’s unbelievably popular CHERUB series is getting mixed review, some good, some a little disappointed.

Catching Fire is the eagerly anticipated follow up to Suzanne Collins’ surprise best-seller Hunger Games. This book picks up where the last left off. Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge.
So is Catching Fire as good as Hunger Games? Can it live up to the hype? Early reports are yes, yes it can. Catching Fire is meant to be just as fast paced and exciting as her last book. So look out for that one.

Mosman Library has copies of all three books, so why not give them a go. Have you read them? What did you think? Good? Bad? Let us know.
