At the Youth Centre, as part of the TAFE NSW ArtStart program, we have been busily developing a mural for the exterior of the new music room currently under development.
A brainstorming session was held where a group of enthusiastic young people brought out a range of ideas and concepts covering a diverse mix of elements relating to music and the current state of the music industry. The result of these ideas, skillfully pieced together by COFA Honours Student Marikit Santiago, are both unique and striking.
If you would like to be a part of this fantastic program and get ‘hands on’ with the painting of the mural, contact Council’s Youth Development Officer on 9978 4144 or email youth@mosman.nsw.gov.au.
Painting commences at 10am on Saturday November 26th at Mosman Youth Centre (underneath the Library). Lunch is provided for all participants. RSVPs are appreciated.
The Mosman Youth Art Prize offers young art students a fantastic opportunity to exhibit their work in a public art gallery. The huge response that we receive every year from young artists indicates that this prize is a well anticipated and appreciated event.
The Mosman Youth Art Prize is organised by Mosman Council and features the diverse talents of young, aspiring and emerging artists aged between 12 and 20 years. It was initiated in 1988 by the internationally renowned artist and local resident Ken Done AM.
