Sapphire Battersea is the second book from the exhilirating trilogy of Hetty Feather. Hetty sets her foot out of the founding hospital for the last time to start work as a maid. For the first time Hetty realises that life isn’t as simple as she thought. Fired from her job, Hetty sets out to find her mother, also working as a maid. Hetty meets many new and profound characters on the way. This impossible to put down book is recommended for 11-15 year-olds.

Skulduggery Pleasant by Derek Landy

Skulduggery Pleasant is an exciting series about a living skeleton detective trying to stop the Faceless Ones from coming to the Earth. It is a very fun and exhilarating series. I recommend it to anyone aged 11 – 15 years old.

About Skulduggery Pleasant

“So you won′t keep anything from me again?”

He put his hand to his chest. “Cross my heart and hope to die.”

“Okay then. Though you don′t actually have a heart,” she said.

“I know.”

“And technically, you′ve already died.”

“I know that too.”

“Just so we′re clear.”

Stephanie′s uncle Gordon is a writer of horror fiction. But when he dies and leaves her his estate, Stephanie learns that while he may have written horror, it certainly wasn′t fiction.

Pursued by evil forces intent on recovering a mysterious key, Stephanie finds help from an unusual source – the wisecracking skeleton of a dead wizard.

When all hell breaks loose, it′s lucky for Skulduggery that he′s already dead. Though he′s about to discover that being a skeleton doesn′t stop you from being tortured, if the torturer is determined enough. And if there′s anything Skulduggery hates, it′s torture… Will evil win the day? Will Stephanie and Skulduggery stop bickering long enough to stop it? One thing′s for sure: evil won′t know what′s hit it.

Ichiroh 2 by Mikage

This entertaining manga follows the lives of students and their day to day activities. This is an amusing story, that I would recommend for those who enjoy manga. However, this is not the most entertaining manga I have read, and there are better ones out there.

About Ichiroh

Nanako and her two best friends, Akane and Shino, have been in the same class since elementary school. Now with the entrance exam just around the corner, the girls have big plans for spending their college years together as well. Unfortunately, those big plans hinged on all three of them passing their exams…Now Nanako and Akane are ichiroh, first-year students at the local prep school. Nanako is determined to do better next year, but it’s going to be a real challenge — the bossy dorm/shrine manager puts the pair to work as miko, Akane can’t kick her video game addiction, and the neighbor’s pranks are getting out of hand! With all this nonsense, Nanako will be lucky to get any studying done!

Wake by Lisa McMann

A fantastic book! I loved it from the very first page!

About Wake

For seventeen-year-old Janie, getting sucked into other people’s dreams is getting old. Especially the falling dreams, the naked-but-nobody-notices dreams, and the sex-crazed dreams. Janie’s seen enough fantasy booty to last her a lifetime.

She can’t tell anybody about what she does — they’d never believe her, or worse, they’d think she’s a freak. So Janie lives on the fringe, cursed with an ability she doesn’t want and can’t control.

Then she falls into a gruesome nightmare, one that chills her to the bone. For the first time, Janie is more than a witness to someone else’s twisted psyche. She is a participant….

6 Sacred Stones by Matthew Reilly

The Six Sacred Stones was my favourites Matthew Reilly book so far as it has more action, surprises and twists than any of the others. It was hard to put down and I finished it within less than a day.

I would recommend it to anyones who likes modern adventure books or Matthew Reilly.
