News from the grapevine

Interesting news for book/movie/tv-loving teens!

The Conspiracy 365 series by Gabrielle Lord will be made into a television series. In fact it’s being shot right now in Melbourne! There’s a YouTube teaser trailer which will link to the facebook site for the series.

Speaking of facebook, those hunger games images we posted last week are up on the official Hunger Games Movie facebook page along with updates on the release date of the second Hunger Games film, Catching Fire. Release date will be November 2013, so it’s a long way off yet, but we’ll have the first movie to watch in the meantime. I think we may just have to have a Hunger Games party in time for the release, so stay tuned!

You may be asking yourself how we know all this interesting stuff…Mosman Library Teen Zone has its very own facebook page. For info on what’s happening in the Library, links to awesome book/movie/television news and the chance to win some awesome giveaways, log on to facebook and “like” us.

The Hunger Games Movie

I can’t help but be stupidly excited by the prospect of a Hunger Games film. It’s old news that this is happening, but the motion art (above) and the release of Entertainment Weekly’s photographs makes that wait almost too much to bear.

The books were incredible, and I can only hope that the films do the series justice.

Tomorrow when the war began- THE MOVIE

It’s finally happened!

Just saw the exciting trailer for the MUCH anticipated movie of John Marsden’s Tomorrow When the War Began series. It’s been a loooooooong time coming and its finally coming out this September! Yay!
The Tomorrow series is about a group of teenagers who discover that their country (Australia) has been invaded while they were away camping, and they join the fight against the enemy. The books are excellent and I definitely recommend you go and read them now. The general consensus is that the movies will either be fantastic or a total flop, and if its anything like the trailer suggests it will be great. Can’t wait!

There’s a couple of trailers out there, this is one of them

Tomorrow When The War Began

John Marsden’s popular book is now (finally) be made into a film, various news outlets report.

Pre-production of the film will begin in weeks, with filming to start later in the year. Australian screenwriter Stuart Beattie will make his directorial debut on the project, having previously written for the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy. The film is to be shot in the Hunter Valley.

Have you read Marsden’s books? What do you think, will they make good films?
